Nickel Alpine Spike Walking Stick Ferrule
The ferrule you need to use depends on the environment you’re in; if you’re hiking on soft surfaces, a rubber ferrule won’t provide very effective support. The Nickel Alpine Spike Walking Stick Ferrule has a spiked end that penetrates slightly into the soft ground so you remain supported and safe throughout use.
What’s Included?
- 1 x Spiked Ferrule
- 1 x Small Finish Nail
Spiked Ferrule
This Nickel Alpine Ferrule provides you with excellent support, but like all other ferrules it is subject to normal wear and tear. As such, it’s important that you check the tip regularly to make sure it’s in a suitable condition and replace it whenever necessary.
Silver Design
Created with a silver-coloured body, the Alpine Spike Ferrule will remain inconspicuous at the end of your mobility aid. Its neutral colour also means that it’s suitable even for the most dramatically designed walking sticks.
How Large is the Ferrule?
To accommodate a range of walking stick and cane types, the Alpine Spike Ferrule is available in a range of sizes. These measurements represent the width of the ferrule opening, as seen in the image below.
The following sizes are available:
- 16mm (5/8″)
- 18mm (7/10″)
- 22mm (7/8″)
- 26mm (1″)
The required size can be selected from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Sizing of the Nickel Alpine Ferrule
The Nickel Walking Stick Ferrule is available in four different external diameters so you have a number of choices and can find a ferrule that fits your walking stick. Finding out which size you require is easy; simply measure across the end of your stick to find out which ferrule you need to purchase.
How Do I Fit the Spiked Ferrule?
To fit the spiked ferrule onto the bottom of your walking stick, simply follow these instructions:
Can I Use the Nickel Alpine Ferrule with a Rubber Ferrule?
Unfortunately, the Nickel Spike Walking Stick Ferrule is not suitable for use with a rubber ferrule. If you would like a combination ferrule, we would recommend using the Combi Spike Ferrule with a Type E Ferrule instead.
